Six filters: brand, price, style, color, material, and designer. That’s what it takes to find that one piece in the world of design.
A store for a gallery that sells functional art
SHOWROOM started in Zurich in 2014 as a concept store: a shop and a gallery in one. Today it sells work by independent designers and manufacturers online to individuals and businesses, from glass by František Jungvirt and Borowski to Lladró porcelain and Jaime Hayon’s collection for BOSA. In a store like this, a photo alone isn’t enough. Customers want to know who made the piece, how many were produced, and how long delivery will take.
Features built for selling design
Six filters
Brand, price, style, color, material, and designer. Customers narrow hundreds of pieces down to the few that fit their space.
Brand and designer pages
Every brand and every maker has their own page. Anyone who falls for a Jungvirt vase immediately sees the rest of his work.
Limited editions
The product shows a numbered series, e.g., “limited edition of 26.” Customers know they're buying something their neighbor won't have.
Delivery time next to the button
Handmade pieces can take several weeks to arrive. The timeframe, e.g., 3–6 weeks, is shown next to “Add to cart,” not buried in the terms.
Three currencies
Prices in euros, Swiss francs, and dollars. Customers from Switzerland, Germany, or the U.S. pay in a currency they know.
Color Guide
Shop by color: black and white, gemstone tones, and greens. That's how people decorate, so that's how they can search.
Custom versions
Some products are marked “customizable,” and each one has a contact for a version made for a specific client.
EDIT magazine
Stories about designers and collections. They read like an interiors magazine, and they pull in traffic from Google along the way.
Gift cards and gifts
Gift cards and gifts by recipient: for her, for him, and last-minute.
